here is a small description of the collectives who will moderate
the meetings in athens

1.autonomous center (autonomo steki)

the autonomous center exists since 10 years now .it is an open autonomous
space in the center of athens ..the political principles of the collective
are based in horisontalism and self organisation ..the autonomous center
all of these years gave space for activities , meetings and big events to
several collectives in greece , for ex a physical space of the pga info
point with posters and materials exists more than one year there ..

several activists of autonomous center involved with the pga europe
process all off these years ..people were in the conference in laiden ,
milano , belgrade , france and in the global conference in
india.autonomous center is one collectives in greece who the
organisational philosophy is based in the 5 pga hallmarks

2.legalise festival

Athens 2007 Legalise Cannabis Protestival

On 4th and 5th of May 2007 get ready for this year's Legalise Cannabis
Protestival extravaGanja in downtown Athens... keep your ears alert...

Our hope and expectation is to create a FREE for all organic and
self-managed festival open to new ideas and expressions. An autonomous
creative space where everybody will come and contribute according to
his/her ability in celebrating our right for total freedom,
self-determination and dignity, and contribute in spreading the truth.
This is why we ask for your hands-on support with ideas and practical
help.

So volunteers are more than welcome...:)

Send an email to iliosporoi(at)yahoo(dot)gr to get onboard and follow the
preparations

about the collective ILIOSPOROI

is an info-action youth network on social and political ecology.

Based on values such as ecological wisdom, freedom, non-violence, direct
democracy, self-determination, solidarity, social justice and equality,
through self-organisation ILIOSPOROI support campaigns on issues that
affect the everyday life of young people, such as conservation of natural
resources, human and animal rights, harm reduction drug policies, race
unity.

Since 2005 are the focal point in Greece for the Global Marijuana March
and the European Campaign for Just and Effective Drug policies.

ILIOSPOROI lobby for a more sensible approach to drugs policy through harm
reduction and works to remove criminal penalties for cannabis use.
Particular emphasis is given on making cannabis medically available to
seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors and informing
the public on the different beneficial uses of the divine herb. Moreover
we sensitise people who use drugs to do it sensibly.

ILIOSPOROI and this website do not encourage illegal cannabis or synthetic
drug (ab)use.

Our effort wants to highlight that our failed drug laws cost taxpayers
billions of Euros a year, put to jail and criminalise active members of
the society, keep police from focusing on real crimes, trap users in an
illegal market, create a vicious corruption circle that involves kartels,
politicians, judges and the police, and fail to keep cannabis and
especially synthetic drugs away from kids. We believe it's time for a new
anti-prohibitive approach focusing on harm reduction, taxation, regulation
and self-production.

yesterday was a pga meeting in the autonomous center athens. 25 people
attended. at the beginning people from install autonomy berlin
presented the proposed structure/topics and some basics for discussion
(signs for horizontal discussion).

first was a short introduction about autonomous movement in the region
of germany and about the autonomous/squatting scene in berlin. also a
report was made about spaces that are in danger (koepi, schwarzer
kanal, rigaer strasse).
the organising of our collective was explained as an example.

the mobilisation against g8 was presented, about the different
concepts of mass blockades and decentralised action, convergence
centers in berlin, hamburg, rostock. we talked about the global
perspective of linkung struggles and building up alternatives in the
process of protest and after that.

___PGA euro/process discussion and some decisions___

--first was a small evaluation of the pga wintermeeting in hamburg and
some ideas that were proposed there like infotables during g8 protest
and a pga meeting 9.-10. june in hamburg

--after was a presentation of what happens at the moment with some
different projects started at the last pga conference.

--next topic were the tools of pga, mailing-lists were introduced and
some emails collected. also topic: infopoints, regional meetings,
call-out newsletter of greek activists for the next conference.

--PGA conference summer 2008:
as a proposal is thessaloniki.
many people had the impression that its not good that only one
collective from athens is convenor for the conference.

proposals about the process of the next conference:

building up a new working group (like STAMP collective france)but
based on existing collectives (basically from athens and thessaloniki)

pga regional info-meetings about the conference process

--pga european preperation meeting next november or december

__FEEDBACK
greece is a good chance to start the discussion about to unify the
global process of pga. in the european conference let's start the
discussion about a global conference

keeping in mind that greece is more representing the capitalist system
of north europe and is not a balkan type capitalist country
anymore.also some people said that greece is the imperialism of
balkans , in other words greece is the state who control the economy
and the capital in the balkan area.. because of that a conference here
would also have a symbolic role.

the people emphasised their wish to be more connected with the rest of europe.

today we again had a pga info-meeting moderated by install autonomy.
this time it was at legalise festival, a free music festival in the
university of athens. basically we had a similiar structure as on the
third of may:

*introducing install autonomy collective berlin, showing some
principles of autonomous organising.
*information about G8, antig8 protest, convergence centers, mass
blockades and decentralised actions.
*information about pga, roots/history of the network, characteristics
(not an organisation, etc.), GDA, hallmarks, tools of the network,
european conference (plus a longer part about the possibility to have
a conference in greek).

this time 10 people attended, feedback was very good, they asked many
specific questions about g8, the protests and about pga. we again
collected some mailingadresses for the pga mailinglists.
